I wasnt sure if I would like this as I usually don't get excited about sports related writing but this book was extremely interesting and suspenseful. Definitely a "root for the underdog" kind of story. The challenges this jockey and horse went through are unreal! Plus it was neat to read all the famous faces that intermingled with this story (ie. Bing Crosby, The Vanderbilts, FDR, numerous old Hollywood elite). There are some passages here and there that are heavy with racing jargon that are tough if its not your immediate area of interest(least thats how it was for me) but definitely a worthy read for anyone.
